News in the UN

What is KleMUN?

Being the only MUN that is set in the region of the Niederrhein, Germany,

KleMUN is an emerging MUN event, which has firstly been held in 2013 in Kleve.

KleMUN is organized by students of the Rhine Waal University of Applied Sciences

at the Campus Kleve.

Since the university is itself already an international environment,

with students coming from over 80 countries, a MUN fits perfectly into the

student community and enjoys a big support by the university as well.

The vision of KleMUN was to provide an MUN that is not only suitable for experienced delegates,

but also for beginners and intermediate debaters. To be able to debate in a comfortable atmosphere,

but still with heated arguments, the committees are held as small as possible

and do not exceed a maximum number of 35 delegates per committee.

This ensures that every participant can feel comfortable enough to engage in the debates,

improve his/her skills and actively learn more about current events ocurring worldwide.

KleMUN2014 will be held from the 12th - 16th November 2014

with around 100 delegates participating.

This year, there will be four different committees to choose from:

the UN Security Council (Crisis), UNEP, ECOSOC and DISEC. KleMUN includes not only the debates,

but also an introduction to the rules and procedures, social events in the evenings

and lunch to regain your stength for the debates.

Everyone is welcome to apply!

Furthermore, for students from the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Science

there will be a debating training held, which introduces the rules and procedures

of MUNs over the upcoming wintersemester 2014/15.
